SUN TV AT IT AGAIN....

SUN TV remains the same always and they never even try different formula. For them, if there is a holiday, then the viewership has to go up for their channel - which would be their top priority.

Come MAY-1ST, labour day holiday...

This time, viewers are presented with programmes unrelated to the occassion for which May-1st holiday is being celebrated. Starting with SJ.Suryah's morning interview (I couldn't bear his makeup & mannerisms..Don't know, what he is thinking about himself?), followed by romantic 'Titanic' (dubbed in tamil) & Vijay's 'Tamizhan' movie. They might hv decided to correlate 'Tamizhan' movie alone to May-1st, since the hero fights for the masses in this movie.

The pity is that the younger generation is unaware why the holidays are coming. They don't know the significance of each & every holiday. Considering the wide reach of these channels, the younger generation can learn only from here (provided there are quality programmes).

One of my major gripes about suntv. Unfortunately that is the only one available. Everything is pro dmk, programs are not interesting after the first few months, nothing cultural is shown. There is only one music/dance show on friday, mostly we miss them unless we get home early.
movies that are recycled over and over. saptha swarangal is good. nothing unless you want to spend hours crying over a fictional character's misery.

munimma... I agree. Previously I used to spend more time in SUN TV. Surprisingly, my habit has changed now. I hardly watch programmes there.

Correct dhan, Eppidi thirundhuvargal. Thiruthavillai endral.?

I have SUN-TV at home and believe me ..the only programs I watch are Sapthaswarangal and Visu's program. Even the Patti manram's are becoming Stale.

I've heard that Jaya TV is better, unfortunately we don't get it live in the US ( on a satellite dish).

DD should make it attractive.. since the charm is not there with some interesting programmes & marketing, people are going away from this channel.

only those, who hv not subscribed for the cable channels live with DD..

Is it a coincidence that my post SUN TV bashing also had the same title. These kind of filmi style programs might appeal to the people down south....where SUN TV has a huge presence. SUN TV is not very serious about catering to the tastes of the overseas market. They just want the money from the overseas cable TV sales. It is high time they come out with a premium offering like a lifestyle channel so that the filmi masala and mega serials can continue in SUN TV and lifestyle, infotainment programs can be featured on this premium channels. I guess the Hindi channels do have such clear demarcation.

Was it the same title? then it should be co-incidence. When I saw the promos yesterday in SUN TV for May1st progrm, I immediately started posting this.. so, didn't even think of the title you had given..

hi Ram,

After reading ur post about the Tamil New year programmes in Sun TV, I was expecting a similar bashing about the May day celebrations in your blog... and I was not disappointed.
