.
(thanglish format & rough english translation in comments section)

'Mathi' has two meanings in tamil - It implies both 'Mind'and 'Moon'... so, here it goes my rough translation

'Mind'

Just a smile,
while
having a thought
about
College days

When I recall
my friends
who went
around that
'Mathumathi'

Like those
'Mind' less
stars going
around that 'Moon'

Though she kept
them always at a
distance....

**********************

Hiding Time

Its time for the moon
to hide behind the clouds
Its the central park

She, within his warm hands,
started pestering for money

To buy books for her
school going son..
while blaming the person
who pushed her into that
profession

Ram, it was wonderful to read your 'mathiyin thaakkam' . Mathi maRaintha nEram was especially brilliant. Honestly, I feel the 'rough' English translation was good too.

p.s. mathumathiyai surriya nanbargal... Didn't you join the club?

Hi Ram,
Its fantastic and I like the way you had mentioned an information germane to "moon".Mathiyaal mathi izantha.....beautiful and captivating lyrics.....keep rolling the ball.
Do you know how the word lunatic meaning madness got is genesis?
When a person gets exposed to the lunar rays of moon for a pretty long time, its believed that the person may become a mental and hence the madness is also coined and called "Lunatic"
You have put across this script in a picture perfect astute manner.....rain or shine ur blogs are the fine (very very very fine and enjoyable)
Regards
S
