When the reality strikes..

Suicide * Burnt * Crushed * Hacked

Sometimes, when all the prominent headlines of the news portals have these messages, you may get mixed feelings. That’s what I got when I saw yesterday’s headlines in the evening paper, News Today. [Double click the pic to see what I’m trying to highlight].

Eventhough it is painful to face the reality which had struck those people, the thoughts which struck me immediately are....

1) Life fragility.
2) News portals’ tactics to woo the readers by hook or crook… either with a negative shade or with a positive shade [India booming or Sensex to touch 16000 etc.,]
3) Switching over to a cine web portal – which doesn’t affect me by heart.

Cannot blame them also..

In the world of Dhina Thanthi, Maalai Malar & Tamil Murasu , this guy also needs to survive. Isn’t it?

Atleast, can’t they bring out some positive news as well on the top?

Ram,
I agree with u. It is irritating to read these kind of headlines everyday. News Today is generally good...guess they didn't have any other news yesterday!

hmm...being a journo myself, i often used to wonder whether ppl are all that interested in whatever news we put on the website. my boss would scream her guts off if one single piece of news is not put in immediately or if it does not have a screeming headline (the one's u spoke of)...sometimes i would feel so frustrated that i would tell myself-hell with them all! as if they are glued to this website for all the news and have nothing else to do. i got some kind of an answer to all my doubts, i had then, by reading this post of urs.

Kaps.. possible that they really had a bad day on that said day.

Amrita.. thanks for dropping by. Definitely each web portal has its own visitors.. So, your org's web portal should also have regular visitors. Keep posting without frustration...
