A Day to celebrate….

Completion of a year…. Hmmm.

Just like that, it was dreamt & started on this Tamil New year day…… and one year had gone. It was an enjoyable experience of making so many friends thru the net within a short period of time. Thanks for visiting very often. Keep visiting…

As you could have observed the no. of posts in the recent months have come down a lot which have in turn pulled down the visitors too. What to do? Tied up too much on the work. Still happy that I was able to make 260plus posts during this period.

Anyhow, it is a matter of some more time, before I turn aggressive once again. Till then, keep visiting….267th post

‘Yaali’ for sale

We might have observed these sort of creatures in mythological movies or some crazy comic stories where the Scientists give life to odd creatures, to destruct or save the world. In our Indian mythology, we have seen so many mixed creatures like Kamadhenu, Yaali etc., We normally brush them aside as story characters..

Just think about seeing these mythological creatures (Dragon, Unicorn, Gryphon, etc) LIVE ….. in front of your eyes. Some people welcome that idea.. some may vehemently oppose it.

Not anymore, since people are spending so much efforts to create these creatures…

If Mr.Paolo Fril of GeneDupe succeeds in creating them, then you may take one of them to your house….

“…PAOLO FRIL, chairman and chief scientific officer of GeneDupe, based in San Melito, California, is a man with a dream. That dream is a dragon in every home….. Making a mythical creature real is not easy. But GeneDupe's team of biologists and computer scientists reckon they are equal to the task. Their secret is a new field, which they call “virtual cell biology”. …..

Each computer starts with a search image (dragon, unicorn, gryphon, etc), and the genome of the real animal most closely resembling it (a lizard for the dragon, a horse for the unicorn and, most taxingly, the spliced genomes of a lion and an eagle for the gryphon). The virtual genomes of these real animals are then tweaked by random electronic mutations. When they have matured, the virtual adults most closely resembling the targets are picked and cross-bred, while the others are culled.

Using this rapid evolutionary process, GeneDupe's scientists have arrived at genomes for a range of mythological creatures—in a computer, at least. The next stage, on which they are just embarking, is to do it for real…..”

Seems, he was in the news 6 years back, when he was about to introduce a real Gold fish , in which he couldn’t succeed and that project was scrapped.

If this team’s new efforts succeed, will it be for a Good cause or Bad one???

Just reconsider once again, availability of ‘Yaali’ for sale in your nearby pet shop…..

When the reality strikes..

Suicide * Burnt * Crushed * Hacked

Sometimes, when all the prominent headlines of the news portals have these messages, you may get mixed feelings. That’s what I got when I saw yesterday’s headlines in the evening paper, News Today. [Double click the pic to see what I’m trying to highlight].

Eventhough it is painful to face the reality which had struck those people, the thoughts which struck me immediately are....

1) Life fragility.
2) News portals’ tactics to woo the readers by hook or crook… either with a negative shade or with a positive shade [India booming or Sensex to touch 16000 etc.,]
3) Switching over to a cine web portal – which doesn’t affect me by heart.

Cannot blame them also..

In the world of Dhina Thanthi, Maalai Malar & Tamil Murasu , this guy also needs to survive. Isn’t it?

Atleast, can’t they bring out some positive news as well on the top?

Amma everywhere….

Now that Election Commission has restricted political graffiti on the walls, our kazhaga thondar has squeezed his head and given the entire space of his two wheeler registration plate for Amma.

Normally the RTO officials restrict, hiding the vehicle registration numbers in the number plates. It is a known rule that the number plate must be made visible both in the front and back of any vehicle…

Seems, the officials may ignore this, considering the political attachment of the vehicle owner.
